Pellet supplement that promotes the natural elimination of excess sand accumulated in the intestine and intestinal movement. For horses grazing on dry, sandy soils
For animal use only. Keep out of the reach of children.
Horses can ingest sand by grazing on very dry, dusty or sandy soils, or in meadows with short grass by pulling it up and eating the roots with sand, and even consciously due to a lack of minerals or boredom.
Although your body can handle small amounts and expel it naturally, if sand and dirt build up in the intestine, it can cause health problems. The motility of the intestines decreases, which causes a blockage and colic as gas accumulates. Symptoms range from abdominal discomfort, not only when riding, abdominal distension, lack of appetite, diarrhea and weight loss.
Sand Gard Pellets are a tasty and easy to administer complementary feed, which promote intestinal movement (peristalsis) and provide herbal ingredients to naturally "sweep away" excess sand that has accumulated in the intestine. They also provide probiotics to support the gut microflora.
Additionally, it can be administered regularly for long-term maintenance of optimal intestinal health in horses that tend to suffer from this problem or graze on sandy terrain.
